EMPIRE MAINE COONS POLICIES

Health Guarantee

Empire Maine Coons LLC provides a one-year health guarantee against the PKDef gene and HCM gene based on Optimal Selection genetic screening. This guarantee covers any genetic conditions identified within the first year after adoption. Our licensed veterinarian must confirm the diagnosis for the guarantee to apply.  A replacement kitten will be provided when one becomes available.

Warranty Terms
To maintain the validity of the one-year genetic health guarantee, the buyer must have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within seven business days of its arrival to your home. Failure to do so will void the guarantee and warranty.

Additionally, Empire Maine Coons LLC does not provide a health guarantee for fungal infections or upper respiratory infections (URI), whether these conditions are present before or after the sale. The breeder is not liable for these issues, nor does it suggest that any information was withheld. The buyer understands and accepts the inherent risks associated with adopting and agrees not to hold the breeder responsible for any medical, household, or personal health-related expenses resulting from fungal or URI infections. The buyer further acknowledges that the kitten may have, or develop, a fungal or URI infection do to stress and assumes full financial responsibility for any related treatment.

While Empire Maine Coons LLC screens its breeding cats for diseases known to affect Maine Coons, the buyer understands that there is no guarantee that the kitten will remain free of genetic or other health conditions. The breeder is not financially responsible for any health conditions that may arise after the kitten leaves their care.

Additionally, Empire Maine Coons LLC does not guarantee the kitten’s current or future color, size, traits, or temperament.

Refund & Replacement Policy
For other serious congenital, genetic, or unexpected diseases that may lead to the kitten’s passing before one year of age, the buyer will offer a discount toward a replacement kitten of $200.

Please note: that we do not issue refunds.

Health Screenings
All breeding cats in our cattery undergo comprehensive health screenings and genetic testing for hereditary conditions, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), hip dysplasia, and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). We also test for feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). However, we cannot be held responsible if these conditions develop after adoption.

Veterinary Care
Our cats receive routine veterinary check-ups to ensure their ongoing health and mental well-being.

Health Disclaimer
Even with extensive testing and immaculate living conditions, health issues may still arise after adoption. The breeder is not liable for these issues, nor does it suggest that any information was withheld.

Vaccinations & Documentation
Each kitten receives its first two rounds of vaccinations, with corresponding documentation provided to the buyer. Rabies vaccination, microchipping, and any additional veterinary expenses are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
